ATTN: sonic star
« on: February 28, 2009, 09:51:42 am »
Three stats cause trouble for me (there may be more I haven't seen yet):

New Record: sonic star got 119878 on Rush / Scores / Dead Line 1 (Blaze)
New Record: sonic star got 0:23:96 on Rush / Bosses / Night Carnival Boss (Sonic)
New Record: sonic star got 0:24:11 on Rush / Bosses / Night Carnival Boss (Blaze)

There are methods you have to know before you can even attempt any of these stats. Would you care to explain before I disprove these stats are even possible?

EDIT: one other thing: if you remember, what was your "speed bonus" for Dead Line 1 Blaze?

Could you take a picture of the screen where the game lists your best times for Night Carnival Boss?
Fail collection: 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5.

Ok, first of all:

I don't think you're just making up the times. I think you're using action replay instead.

Use of Action Replay codes is against the rules. Your scores and times are telltale signs that you are using them, because the only ones in which you are excelling are levels that have shortages on rush fuel.

NC Boss, for Sonic and Blaze, can't go under 24.5x seconds. Sonic runs at full speed to get 24.5x, and misses no opportunities for a hit, including turtle springs. The only ways to gain extra opportunities are to have moonjumping functions or speed-gaining functions during the bossfight.

In Dead Line 1 Blaze, you're doing something to pump rings or get around the stage better, because only 519 rings exist on the course. Assuming your score has a prefect speed bonus, you'd have to had picked up 487 of them. The only way to get over a certain amount is to backtrack through the stage. And by doing that you would have had to forfeit your Time bonus, because the bonus starts dropping after 2:30:00.

So you're either lying about using cheats or you didn't read the rules. Either way you don't belong on the charts.

Action Replay codes such as moonjump do not work against bosses (at least the ones from codejunkies).

I'm not really "backing you up."  I'm just throwing AR out of the possible methods.

Action Replay is a device you can use to modify what the game allows you to do or to get infinite of a certain item.  This is not allowed on TSC (though I still think an infinite lives code would count as an exception.

Moonjump is one of those types of cheats.  In this game, holding A or B with an AR cheat active allows you to rise very high in the air.  The only time you stop is when you let go of A/B, but you can resume rising by holding the button again.

One other thing.  There's a "modify" button for you to use to avoid double posting.

Even if he's not using moonjump for the boss fight, he's doing something to create extra opportunities, because there's no way that boss can be done in under 24.50.

There's also the matter of Dead Line 1 blaze. You still have yet to explain how 487 rings are obtained in under 2:30:00, while maintaining speed bonus and trick bonus.

Well now that you recall "some weird glitch," why don't you tell me what's going on? You seem to remember now.

Also I'm still waiting for you to explain Dead Line 1 Blaze score. You submitted a new stat just after you replied that you don't remember what you did. even with a perfect Speed bonus, you would need 487 rings for it to even be possible. 519 exist on the course, meaning you have to backtrack to get them. However, backtracking is impossible with a 2:30 time limit.

I'm tired of having to repeat myself: would you please explain how you magically pulled this off?

I was referring to the times themselves, not the bonuses. I thought easy mode had fewer hits? >_>
